ALL-ON-4 DENTAL IMPLANTS

All-on-4 is the latest technique used to restore all lost teeth on one jaw with 4. The doctor will place 4 implants per jaw for the patient. After implant placement, a permanent denture with 10-12 teeth will be placed fixed on the implants. This helps reduce the number of implants required, hence reducing the cost of treatment, while still maintaining chewing function and aesthetic features.
All-on-4 is a long-lasting solution for tooth loss. All-on-4 will give you a new smile, with a younger and natural look and feel.

WHO IS SUITABLE FOR ALL-ON-4

Edentulous patients (patients who have lost all or most of their teeth)

Patients with severe periodontal disease or with significant decays/ infections

ALL-ON-4 PLUS

All on 4 is more suitable for patients who don’t have adequate bone in the back teeth area to support additional implants. It is the most cost-conscious solution for edentulous patients. In certain cases, additional procedures are needed. For patients whose bone quality is poor or whose bone structure/volume is inadequate, bone graft and even sinus lift is required. For patients with strong chewing power, additional implants may be required. The most common is adding 2 additional implants, which is known as ALL-ON-6.

All on 6 is the most optimal solution for patients who have adequate bone in the back teeth area or patients with softer bone density which requires more implants to support the denture. All on 6 is also suitable for younger patients as All on 6 has more implants and therefore provides stronger chewing functionality.

ALL-ON-4 PROCESS

Dental implant is a 2-step process. At our Vietnam dental clinic, we utilize the latest technology to minimize the time spent on each step.

Step 1: placement of the implants and installment of the temporary denture on these implants. This step requires approximately 12-14 days, including 4-5 appointments, with a few days in between to travel.

Appointment 1:

The doctor will take a Cone Beam CT scan and examine the patient to determine the patient’s oral health and bone conditions. Implant placement is designed using Nobel Clinician Implant software based on a 3D x-ray. This step will determine whether the patient has adequate bone to support the implants, if a bone graft or sinus lift is required, and the number of implants & sizes needed to be placed.

Appointment 2:

Surgery day. To provide the patient with maximum comfort, sedation or general anesthesia is recommended. On the morning of the operation, a blood test and general health examination will be performed to determine whether the patient is fit for surgery. Each implant will take approximately 15 minutes to place, additional time will be needed if bone graft or sinus lift procedures are involved. After the surgery, the doctor will take a digital impression with a PIC system for our in-house dental lab to start making the temporary denture.

Appointment 3 & 4:

Wax-up, bite registration, try on denture. Adjustments are made directly by our doctor and lab technician to ensure the best fit and aesthetic. The patient will have a fixed temporary denture within 3 days of· surgery.

Appointment 5:

Place the temporary denture fixed on the implants. Make adjustments as necessary. After appointment 4, the patient has a week to travel and come back for a final check-up.

Appointment 6:

Final check-up to remove the stitches, tighten the denture, and ensure the patient is comfortable with the fixed temporary denture. The patient will wait 6-8 months to allow the implants to fully integrate and bond with the surrounding bone.

Step 2 (6-8 months later): Install the permanent denture on the implants. On average, each case requires approximately 10-12 days.

Appointment 1:

The doctor will take a Cone Beam CT scanner and examine the implant sites to check the conditions of the implants and the overall oral health. Take digital impressions and send them to an in-house dental lab to fabricate the permanent denture.

Appointment 2, 3, 4:

Bite registration, teeth try-in, framework try-in. Then patient can travel for a few days while waiting for the in-house dental lab to fabricate the permanent denture.

Appointment 5:

Install the permanent denture on the implants and make adjustments.

Appointment 6:

Re-examination and final check-up.

It is recommended the patient have a re-examination every 6 months, either at our dental hospital or with any local implant specialist.
